August is Toy Train Month at the California State Railroad Museum

California State Parks and the California State Railroad Museum & Foundation are proud to recognize August 2016 as Toy Train Month, an annual celebration that focuses on the Thomas W. Sefton Gallery and “Small Wonders: The Magic of Toy Trains” exhibit.

In recognition of Toy Train month, 14 toy cabooses from the Museum’s impressive collection will be introduced – for the first time – in the crowd-favorite “Small Wonders” exhibit, one of which is quite rare. Prized Caboose No. 2129 was manufactured between 1908-1913 by Voltamp Electric Manufacturing Company, is blue in color with gold painted lettering “B&O” and “2129” and pin striping on both sides, has an 8-window cupola, and features other eye-catching detail sure to capture the interest of dedicated toy train collectors and casual enthusiasts alike.
