Mikuni Restaurant Group has opened Mikuni Kaizen at The Fountains at Roseville!!!

Listen up sushi lovers!!!  With six locations in the Sacramento region, and many first place awards for Best Japanese and Best Sushi, Mikuni brings a new twist to its popular Japanese cuisine and fresh sushi to the open-air retail center, The Fountains at Roseville.

“Our vision of a new menu for this restaurant required a new name,” said Haru Sakata, Mikuni Chief Executive Officer. “We strive for kaizen, or continuous improvement, in our business in all aspects, so we called the new location Mikuni Kaizen.”

The cuisine is a fusion of favorite Mikuni recipes and brand new items featuring the quality fish and unique style available only at Mikuni innovative sushi bars. Mikuni master chefs are enhancing the menu with a more complex mix of Japanese dishes, a detour from the comfortable sushi rolls long enjoyed by loyal Mikuni fans.

Great Birthday Dinner - Susumu Japanese Steakhouse

A secret gem located in Roseville, we recently ventured out to Susumu Japanese Steakhouse for my son's 20th birthday.  WOW!  We all sat around a large hibachi grill where we were treated to great food and a great show.  The flaming onion volano was a big hit, right behind the tasty food.  They also have a great sushi bar.  My son is just venturing out into the sushi world and was not disappointed by their offerings.  Of course, we had to end the evening with the taiko drum, the Japanese Happy Song and ice cream.

Located at 1811 Douglas Boulevard, this is a perfect place for any celebration.  Great prices.  Great food.  Great time.

Contributor of the Month: Blogger Catherine Enfield

The contributor of the month piece will highlight a My Neighborhood blogger who has posted multiple pieces during the month and is doing something exciting. The contributor of the month is picked by News10 My Neighborhood staff.

I met up with Catherine Enfield at the Sugar and Spice Bakery at 12th and F. Bakery Owner Carissa went about her afternoon as she baked more treats and helped patrons pick out their perfect dessert.

Catherin and I stood in the corner and chatted about her blog Munchie Musings.

“The Munchie Musings is actually an appropriate title because if I had to think of a mission statement it would be thoughts, musings, about food and life,” Catherine explained.
