Rocklin Coffee House offers products online to support anti-sex trafficking efforts

ROCKLIN, Calif. – A Rocklin coffeehouse dedicated to raising awareness and money to fight sex trafficking is giving people a way to support the effort without even coming into its location.

Origin Coffee & Tea is offering guaranteed free-trade coffee online as well as its signature coffee mugs. All are available at www.OriginCoffee.org.

"Every cup of coffee, every bag of coffee, everything that's purchased supports our effort to raise awareness about the sex trafficking epidemic and efforts to stop it,” said Chad Salstrom, one of the co-founders of Origin’s Coffee & Tea. “We can each do our part to give these young girls and women hope for a future.”

Origin opened in January, with a nearly all-volunteer staff dedicated to supporting the organization’s mission.

MomsLikeMe Blog: Good thing out-of-town calories don't count

Good thing out of town calories don't count - because I did some damage this weekend! I ate as many Chips-a-Hoy cookies as I wanted, dipped everything I could find in Nutella, and said yes every time to whip cream on my decaf mocha.

Wine delivered to your home? Why not?

Wine delivered to your home? Why not?

I saw this great deal on Travel Zoo and had to share it -- just in case you enjoy sipping a glass of wine on your patio on a warm summer evening.

Online wine store The Finest Bottle is offering Sacramento residents $75 worth of wine for $25. I'm not sure how good these wines are, but they claim they that there are good vintages such as the 2007 Canoe Ridge Dry Riesling and 2009 Camino del Toro Malbec.

But the part of the deal I liked is that instead of getting 5 bottles of average wine for $25, you could use the deal to order one exceptional bottle worth $75 and pay only $25.  Imagine getting a premium bottle of 2005 Yalumba Lyndoch Shiraz (regularly $72.50) for $25.

West Rocklin just got sweeter with cupcake store opening soon

West Rocklin just got sweeter with cupcake store opening soon

It all began when three minds came together to create and develop more than just a simple treat.  The Icing on the Cupcake team has taken their cumulative 50 years of baking experience and turned it into an edible work of art.  With locations already in Folsom, Midtown, and Rocklin, IOTC is expanding and opening another facility in West Rocklin (near Hwy 65) at 6839 Lonetree Blvd. in mid June.

Icing on the Cupcake’s newest West Rocklin location will be the fourth for this team of baking experts including Christee Owens, Shirley Nagasawa, and Chuck Meridith.  Starting out as a small production company and growing at a rapid pace, Icing on the Cupcake now has a production of over 4,000 cupcakes a day.  The new 7,000 square foot “commissary” facility will permit them the opportunity for an even larger production and delivering radius.
