University of California, Davis, will hold its third annual symposium bringing industry experts, farmers and scholars together to talk about the the growing, distribution and culture of tea throughout the world. Topics including “Yes we CAn! Tea Farming in California,” “From Soil to Cup,” and “Sustaining Societies and Preserving Lost Cultures.” Tea is the most consumed beverage in the world other than water. About four in five of all people worldwide drink tea, according to UC Davis tea scholars.

Midtown Farmers Market offers fresh,  fun & festive ways to celebrate in December

In addition to the “12 Days of Midtown” happening throughout the district from December 1 through 12, the Midtown Association (MA) is pleased to present a robust offering of fresh fruit, produce and locally-made gourmet items plus special holiday related activities on Saturdays in December at the popular and thriving Midtown Farmers Market. Proudly sponsored by Sutter Health, the Midtown Farmers Market offers up to 90 farmer, grower and vendor booths bursting with fresh fruit, produce, and gourmet or locally made goods each week.  As a highlight, a crowd-favorite activity is an entertaining cooking or tasting demonstration on the first Saturday of each month presented by a talented Midtown chef or business owner and is sponsored by University of the Pacific, Sacramento Campus. The year-round market takes place on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. (adjusted winter hours) on 20th between J and K Streets.*
